As I said further on down the forum, I'm a student at Duquesne University. It has a phenominal music school. They're not a factory at all. Everyone in the school, no matter which major they are in, is a performer first, and they hold you to that. Also, Neal Tidwell is one of the best guys you could ever study with. He studied with Jacobs, which was deemed a plus earlier in this thread, and his teaching style is fantastic. He takes everything and brings it down to the lowest common denominator and makes you an exponentially better player in the process. I would definitely suggest looking at Duquesne. It's a smaller music school, and the university isn't huge either, but you get a first rate education in music and in core classes. Of course, I am a little biased, as is everyone else from a university.
