I am of the OPINION that his recordings of the 4 Horn Concerti is the best brass recording ever made. That it was recorded in 1953 is even more amazing. I will even go as far as to say they are best things ever put on a recording by any instrumentalist since the birth of recordings. The only that comes close FOR ME is the first Glenn Gould recording of the Goldberg Variations. Dennis Brain is about as perfect as a person can be playing an instrument. Anyone care to share their thoughts?
