Back in high school, our concert band needed a tuba, just for appearances. So we had a horn player hold the butba, and someone off stage played a synthesizer. But what we learned from the experience was that a french horn mouthpiece fits perfectly inside a Conn helleberg. Instant adapter, and it looks like you're using the Helleberg to play.
I can't vouch for the sound quality, but that might help you out ;-)
