I love my 983...great for solos or high orchestra stuff. I bought mine when they first came out. If I had it to do over today, I'd take a close look at the Willson and the MW, too. They all sound like tubas, unlike a lot of the F tubas. Of the F's I've heard, the ones that actually sound like a tuba are the larger Yamaha, the B&S (I don't know the model number), and the MW...there are probably more out there. I'm just an E flat kind of guy, so I think I'll just stay where I'm comfortable.
