I have a theory about that actually, I don't know if it's true or not, but it's something I catch myself thinking quite regularly after I take some tim away from the horn:
Does the break help us, or just get our ears away from playing, so that we are not as critical of ourselves as musicians? I know when I take time away, I feel that when I come back I am playing better, but sometimes I have more difficulty with flexibility exercises and low range stuff.
OR
Could it also just be that it is fun again after a break, when before the break it turned into the dreaded "JUST WORK"?
Any thoughts?
