There's an old saying among car racing enthusiasts: Don't race your ride.
Learn new tricks for dent removal on an old beater where it doesn't matter if it doesn't work. Don't learn it on your nearly mint new horn.
If you don't do it right, you'll stretch and ripple the brass too much, and this will make it much harder for a technician to repair.
