The first time I heard Jake, live. He agreed to give me a lesson and determine if he'd take me on as a student. We got together at the old Carl Fisher building on Wabash Ave., in downtown Chicago; they had some studios that teachers would use. I was fourteen at the time, and trust me, it was inspirational!
