When I fly I put clothes in my tuba case WITH my tubas. This is the easiest way to avoid carrying lots of stuff and to avoid excess baggage charges (since you will probably pay oversize anyway for the tubas). I've found most airlines allow 2 checked bags, so adding one more likely won't work. Best of luck!
