I've been playing the CC version of the Harvey Holton for about a year now. As a matter of fact it was Roger Lewis at the WWBW who went the extra mile to find the horn for me and got a great deal on it, thanks again Roger!

I've been really pleased with the horns characteristics and have really enjoyed playing it. I went with the silver version, but the next one I buy will probably be a laquer one. The silver version is sometimes too bright for combo work. In a full ensemble the silver one really cuts through and projects very well.

The other thing that I find amazing about the horns is how free blowing it is even with the large amount of tight crooks in the valve section.

Te only bad thing I've found is that on the CC version the fourth valve slide is in the back of the horn and tends to poke me in the stomach, not to mention it's impossible to get to if you need to pull/push it while playing.

Hope this helps out, TubaDude
