Well,
None of what I see here is directed towards piccolist, as much as it towards the instrument itself.

In all fairness, any instrument can sound beautiful in the right hands. Just as the same instrument can sound like a dieing animal in the wrong (like me playing piccolo...That's a good answer, "Have you ever heard me play piccolo?").

After all, how many people outside our little circle can imagine (let alone, have heard) a tuba playing something as lyrical as the 2nd movement of the VW, or as fast, and articulate as Czardas (just to name a few), instead of loud and blatty Ohm-pah-pah?

I still love being one of the few who cradle the ensemble. Being the foundation, who carries the ensemble on it's shoulders. We are the strong, massive blocks at the bottom of the pyramid, without us, the who thing would crumble. Its a sensation like no other.

I'm sure we all agree that, no offence intended
