I would only suggest a minor edit of your statement by adding the word "Some in front of the phrase "people mature" (again, "Some" and not "Most")...

...This from my quarter-century experience as a business owner dealing with (not so many 23-26 year-olds, but) mostly 30-to-45-year-olds.

I'm not sure that the argument that 18-year-olds are not yet mature is a particularly good argument for encouraging them to assume $50,000 - $100,000 of debt before they've reached voting age. There are no laws against making ill-advised decisions, just as there are no laws requiring that people make good decisions.
