I asked about your band because I'm a former Army bandsman (six years), and I played in groups of varying sizes. If I remember correctly, the authorized strength is referred to as the "TO&E" (?) One group was 28 pieces (post band), and another was 48 pieces (infantry division band). All of this was back in the late 50's. It may be different these days. Best wishes.
