Since the Holton factory didn't burn to the ground on a regular basis as did Conn's factory, nor did they move to another state--they should have production records. The serial numbers aren't mysterious as figuring out York has been--and what nefarious purpose could a serial number be put to? I imagine if one knows they have a hot horn, perhaps they might not want to give out the number (I was happy to give my Besson numbers to someone who asked). Bob Rusk said that Ted Kexel told him that the reason Holton quit making those horns was that "The guy who made them died." They also never got around to putting the 5th valve on Bob's horn so he just did it himself.
