Northwestern is expensive. No doubt about that. The school is phenomonal with outstanding teachers from the symphony, Lyric, Milwaukee area, etc. I went there for my Masters and Rex Martin was able to offer me a generous scholarship, but I still nearly doubled my student loan debt with just that one year I spent there even with that scholarship.
If you can afford it and Rex Martin accepts you into his studio, then by all means go. My favorite teachers there were Ray Still, Rex Martin, and Vince Cichowitz.
