I didn't know there were "handmade" 621's. That may explain some of the intonation problems on mine. It was built "sharp" so that I usually have to pull the mainslide way out to stay in tune with other players. Ditto the third valve slide for 2-3 combos. Yet, the Eb is so flat that it takes significant lipping-up even with the first valve slide all the way in.

Nonetheless, I like the horn. It has a great tone, plays easily, and fits in my trunk (unlike my miraphone).

It is also a curiosity that the serial number and the "yamaha" brand are hidden on the second-valve casing. ALmost like they didn't want anyone to notice who made the horn!
