This might sound a little strange, but I am curious. I am sure instruments used in the various service bands are of top quality; what happens to them when their "tour of duty " ends and need to be replaced? Are they continually being rebuilt? Are they sold as military surplus? Are they banished to a wind-blown desert storage site until recalled to active duty? (Just kidding.) If sold, they could make someone a nice instrument. Any old military guys out there that could provide some input?
