I have an older 4 valve King. I agree with the previous posts. I am MUCH happier with the Helleberg mouthpiece than with the Bach. And, since you have 3 valves, you are probably sharp on that low F ( as previously mentioned). On the older Kings (1240 & 1241), the top of the first valve slide is not movable so that is not an option for you. You can reach the 3rd valve slides, but they are short (if your horn has the old "loop") I had my horn modified so I can move the first valve slide, although, since I have a 4 valve horn, that is really for G's and D's in the 1-2 combination which tend to be sharp. Your middle C is probably flat also, so a movable 1st valve slide would be helpful for that. I also use 1-2 for middle D on slow passages, as the open fingering tends to be flat. Other then that, practice, practice, practice. Hope that helps.
Love my King!
