I am new (after a 35 year layoff) and aspiring tuba player. I have trouble hitting a low F. I can hit the low G consistantly, with a reasonable attack, but even if I do manage to get the F, the attack is almost always sloppy. If I play it from BBb - A - Ab - G - Gb - F, I have no problem. It is when I try to hit the F from a sequence of notes that are about an octave higher that I have difficulty.

I am playing on an old BBb King, with a Bach #24 mouthpiece. Any suggestions for practice would be welcome.

Thanks in advance to everyone.
