Your comments about the Eb pedal got me to trying it out on various BBb instruments I own and, if I understand what you're saying, the results do corroborate your claim. The Eb pedal is child's play on a 0.655" bore York BBb, but almost impossible on a 0.900" Cazzani-Rampone. Harder on an 0.812" Alex than on a 0.750" King. I can hit the low Bb pedal on all of these quite easily. In particular, the Cazzani-Rampone, being of Milanese manufacture is more flügelhorn-like than any of the others--big bore, small gradual taper through the large branches and a quickly flaring bell.
