I happen to own a Weril that I use for my middle school band. While I think that the Weril is a great horn for a great price, I would have to say that for a personal horn for a serious player, I would go with the Besson. To me the Weril valves have a tendency to stick and don't seem to be of the same quality of construction as the resto of the horn. Also I don't like those plastic valve guides. I think even though the sound would probably be similar, I think you'll probably be happier with the Besson. Buy it from Fedderly though, he's awsome to deal with and if anything goes wrong he'll make it good! I've dealt with several tuba dealers in my career and he is BY FAR the best.
