Many mellophones produced before WWII came with extra sets of crooks for C. I have a very clean (dent-free, all plating intact) silverplate 1929 King mello with crooks for Eb/F and C, original case and the two original mouthpieces for Eb/F and C. The Eb/F main slide has a little rotary valve to add extra length for Eb.
It actually plays better in C than it does in F, although to me, the sound is more of a bad french horn than a baritone.
