I think that your comments on the MW 32 are quite good and well thought out. I know what you are talking about when you say that the MW 32 can be stuffy. When I first got mine (mid 1980's) and for years after that was my complaint about this tuba. I started to relax and play with a slower air stream and the problem went away. This is a tuba that will not accept force gracefully, but will happly serve you if you play it gently. I also have to say that I agree with your teacher that the MW 32 has very quick response (my other tuba is an Alexander 163, about the size of the PT6). My opinion is that the MW 32 is an excellent all around tuba. Feel free to e-mail if you want to further discuss the MW 32.
