The horn you are referring to is going to "retail" for somewhere between $9,500 - $10,000. It is going to marketed as a Conn and not a King, however. I recently learned this from two representatives from UMI, the parent company for both King and Conn. This will have no effect on the horn other than the name on the bell. I am an artist/clinician for UMI and have been using one of the prototypes for about five or six weeks now. It seems to be very good. I've received very positive comments from my colleagues in situations where I've used the horn this summer. I think the new Conn will be available through your local music dealer sometime in Dec. or Jan., you can then begin to negotiate on the price. You should be able to get one for under 7K. Good Luck!
