Yup. But the even scarier arpeggio figures in the final few bars are not. Everything else in the work is accessible to me, at least with ten months advance notice!

I haven't even explored the process. I just heard the conductor tell us that he planned to perform that music in the final concert of the season next year (this year's finale was the Vaughan Williams 2nd). Their regular tubist is a fine player--much better than me--so I'm not at all interested in trying to displace him. But the Berlioz has two parts...

I just don't know if they will automatically go hire a pro or if a local willing amateur gets priority. I'll have to check. If the former, I need to put it out of my mind.
