But there is a difference between an econo overhaul and a full overhaul. To make the horn look like new, you have to burnish, file and buff the bejeesus out of it after it is straightened. Those steps are skipped in an econo overhaul. When I had my Miraphone overhauled, I didn't want him to remove much material, so he left a few ripples and marks from the dent removal process in place. It didn't look like new, but it looks as good as new from ten feet or so (except for the lack of lacquer).

But plating a horn that has imperfections left over after an econo overhaul will look like dog-do. A satin finish is the most forgiving, if you go that route. You'll extend that ten-foot limit to 15 feet.
