The middle-range B natural (non-compensating) tends to be flat, because the 5th partial is flat on most tuba/baritone instruments, BUT because of the sharp tendency of combining two valves (1&2), the B natural usually ends up "right on the nose" in tune (again NON-compensating).

When using a COMPENSATING system and LENGTHENING the 1-2 combination, the sharp G naturals (Bb instrument) are repaired, but the B natural is ruined.
