An arts magnet exists to prepare students for a career in the arts. An arts program in a regular high school (in my opinion) exists to make more fully developed individuals who will NOT have careers in the arts. Now, if a pro comes out of a program that wasn't designed to produce pros, that's great. But it shouldn't be the purpose of the program.

If I've misunderstood your statement above, then maybe we do agree completely.
