I know that you're asking for chamber music, but I remember once hearing a really cool jazz brass choir album that was centered around J.J. Johnson. I believe I've seen this album transfered on to CD. Anyway, it had lots of jazz and studio "heavies" from the late 60's, I'm guessing. I believe that Bill Barber (?) played tuba on it. In general, I'm not a big fan of brass music unless it also includes some percussion; an organ; a rhythm section - some such thing to lend some other colors. But then again, who asked me?
