You have understated the CSO/Bernstien recording a little! The tempo's may be a little slow, but that gives us a little longer to enjoy the sound coming from the orchestra. Arnold Jacobs was assisted by Rex Martin in this recording and the overall sound of the brass section is fantastic, IMO. However, the real winner is still Bud Herseth, who, once again, sounds absolutely incredible as he leads the brass section. There are parts in the finale that the brass section is so together that it sounds almost mechanized! I highly recommend this recording for the 7th if you could have only one, but that is my opinion.
