Actually, the regular Conn Helleberg has the same flat, sharp, narrow rim as the 7B. The difference is that the 7B has a smaller diameter and volume. Apparently, the 7B is more like the vintage Hellebergs.

I think the rim ought to be shaped to fit the face, which prevents me getting much use out of the 7B. It isn't sharper-rimmed than the other one, but it seems so because it cuts into my teeth, while the larger Helleberg wraps around them a bit more. But my favorite rim is a Doug Elliott 2N-132, which is quite similar to a PT-48. It's a little less sharp than the Helleberg (which is emulated in the 4N Doug Elliott rims), and a bit larger than the bigger Conn Helleberg (which is similar to the Elliott 130 rim).
