I've found that people who spend too much time trying to find the 'right' mouthpiece end up being mediocre players. I'm playing the same mouthpiece that i picked in highschool (bach 42). I spent a little too much time at the brook mays tuba blowout sale watching hacks sound like crap while trying to justify changing equipment. Is it me, or are most of us tuba players here are ignorant of our own limitations or is there some truth to be found in hunting for that elusive 'perfect' mouthpiece.
