Since you are obviously impressed with your abilities as a tuba player, you may not be too good at math. So allow me to point out that a new mouthpiece costs from 1% to 5% the price of a new horn. Consequently it's usually less expensive to switch mouthpieces than to switch horns. (Unless you're one of those fortunate enough to have your parents foot the bill for a horn the price of a small car.)
