I don't particularly have a dark/bright problem with my setup on bass bone. I did spend some time with Mr. Elliott when I got mine, as I'm sure you did as well. As we change over time, I would think that a different cup might be an answer. Does his comparison chart list a 51D parallel on his on-line site? I haven't checked, so I don't know.

If you bought your setup fro a different source, I suggest seeing Mr. Elliott if possible. (I am assuming you are in the D.C./Baltimore area, and can get to his place). He hears things quite well, especially for a short period of time a person gets to have his attention, at least in my experience.
