So here is my question, with the New York Phil and Nat'l Symphony auditions about to start, it has made me start thinking about the best recordings of the top 15 or 20 tuba orchestral excerpts? I know the Gene Porkorney Excerpt cd is mandatory, but what about the complete works of them? My other reason for this is that my Unversity's Music Department has jsut hired a new Orchestra Conductor and he is changing the program to a more profesional type audition situation....having 15 excerpts perfect is a little different that 4 excerpts. If anyone has any suggestions for learning several excerpts, that would be really helpful.
