Does His Majesty the Tuba by Robert Dowling fit in? Ho hum, also it's just another theme and variations.

Fred Geib had a nice original composition called "Cavatina" that I still think has some good musical qualities in it. Not a theme and variations but too short.

Also, it's a little known fact that "Trumpet Voluntary" was originally "Tuba Voluntary*." Composed by Jerimiah Clarke, Henry Purcell stole it and transposed it for trumpet, the jerk. That's my favorite solo for tuba.

Mozart also wrote a solofor tuba, Tuba Mirum, but I've never seen a copy. That should be good.
