Klaus mentioned he played a version of the Willson in the 1970's if I read correctly. In college a colleague played a horn with the same (or very similar) "canadian brass" configuration, in lacquer, marked only "Kurath" on the bell. Having played both his horn and the more recent Canadian Brass model, I have to say there were ups and downs to the horn in my view. I am a 2900 player myself, but I did like the horn in general. The models I played had a tuning slide loop that was adjustable "on the fly" with a left hand thumb ring, and though I didn't really have a chance to get used to it it seemed like a nice feature. My main difficulties with the instrument were that the valve throw seemed quite noticeably longer than with the 2900, and also operating the 4th valve with the pinky proved too dificult in certain technical situations.
