No original observation by me, but something I picked somewhere on the net:
Kurath is the founder/owner of Willson. His son should be Will. leading to the present company name.
One blind spot in my 1974 memory:
There was a smallish main tuning slide with a ring mounted on it. I remember it as a thumb ring. Obviously for adjustments during playing.
Was there a larger, more traditional main tuning slide as well?.
