Arnold Jacobs loved to play the red and blue Pottag horn methods. He liked things that were rather pompous. It was too bad that he never learned to play them an octave lower than a French horn. Instead he played them in bass cleff by adding three flats and changing the cleff to bass cleff. To be of comparable difficulty to playing them on the F horn they should be played a forth lower on the CC tuba.

On the other hand Phil Catelinet could play them in any key on his F tuba faster than anyone except, perhaps Bill Bell.
