I agree about it being a pain. I found the same trouble when I played e-flat tuba in a brass band for four years. As far as my playing goes, there is not an e-flat tuba in the world that plays well for me. Believe me, I've tried them all, and my lower(More valve combo) notes were always a pain. The only thing that has really helped me, and again, this is just me, is Mr. Perantoni makes me play with a more relaxed air instead of forcing my lower octaves. Although, for some reason, I haven't met an F-tuba I din't like yet! Go figure! Maybe it's psychological! Thanks!
