Unfortunately, none of the current portable minidisc models allow you to transfer music digitally from the portable to a computer. Only from the computer to the MD player. If you want a digital transfer you'll need to get a MiniDisc deck that has a digital out and then either a sound card that has optical digital in or some other device that will convert the digital to USB. Almost everyone that records live copies the music to their computers using the portable line-out/headphone jack which, though not ideal, is good enough.
