I played that Holton at Dillons. It is a very old one, made in Chicago, which dates it from prior to 1918. It seems in good shape and plays well. From what I can tell it needs no work at all. It is a nice sounding responsive horn, but it wasn't one that I absolutely had to have. It would do well in a large band setting, but I couldn't justify that cost for a 3 valve horn, even for a Holton BAT. I didn't play it with a tuner, but to my ear the 3rd partial didn't seem as bad as on some of the Conn 2XJs.
