I only buy stuff that I am ABSOLUTELY sure what it is, and if it looks like a "B+" in the pictures, I always assume it is a "D". Further, I AlWAYS assume that the valves need to be rebuilt. I take NO ONE's word for ANYTHING and ONLY bid according to what I can see in pictures and feedback.

For instance, the same seller to whom you refer was, a while back, offering a cute little F/BBb B&S-made double tuba with case for an opening bid of $1500 + $200 shipping.

1/ I wasn't absolutely sure what it was, and certainly have never played one.
2/ It looked like an "A" in the pictures so I assumed it was a "C".
3/ Even if it was exactly as represented, $1700 (minimum) + $1000 expense to have 5 rotors rebuilt is too much for a "gimmick" horn.

The system works. I didn't bid on it, and obviously I'm not disappointed with it because I do not own it.

Joe "rarely disappointed on ebay, regardless of the character/ignorance of the sellers" S.
