starting out this year, I could barely hit a F in the staff(not consistent). I now can play up to the Bb(getting more and more consistant).

How I did this was, 1.) practiced alot music and scales, nothing special just my all region/state material. I also borrowed a euphonium from my highshcool and started playing my all region, reading it as tuba fingerings.(which is technically correct, since euphonium B.C. would be 1 octave higher than tuba) and just played what I could that way.

Now I do know my euphonium playing isn't great... but I noticed once my range started getting better on euphonium so did it on tuba..

I only played euphonium for fun, never took it out my practice time. just when i was bored, or sister needed help with 7th grade music. i'd pick it up.

This worked for me, Im hoping it'll help me in all region/state as well. just dont' neglect your low range or it will suffer!!!!!!

just curious, what does your all state go up to?
