Frozen Horn

I'm too lazy and spacey for my own good. Several times this year I have left my year-old piston PT tuba in my car after school and before work. Once I even left it in my car over night. Anyway, I've heard that freezing the horn is damaging to the valves, which makes sense, I suppose. I you live in the North, you know how potholes are formed, its just a bit of water in a crack in the road that freezes and expands, But so far I haven't had any problems with the horn. Is this normal? Maybe the oil in the valves doesn't freeze or something. Since I haven't had any problems, and me being the lazy SOB that I am, I'll problem continue with my ways unless someone with a brain cautions me otherwise. Has anyone out there personally had valve problems due to tubasicles?
