Joe actually, I'm 30 and I can tell you it is a fact. I'm from NY and I spoke to many of the old timers in the city and it was common knowledge. From what I understand Don Butterfield made a six figure income in the sixties playing tuba! The studio scene in NY was quite big. Don was recruiting me to study with him and he told me some of the stuff he did. I chose Juilliard though.
