The Flintstones were all recorded at the Hanna Barbarra studios
on Cahuenga Blvd. in Los Angeles. The tubaist who performed on the early Flintstones was George Bouje (He was the tubaist on the Danny Kaye version of Tubby the Tuba) George was also the staff tubaist at the MGM studios in the 1940s and 50s. Jim Self now owns and plays his old 4/4 CC York Tuba.
Tommy Johnson took over most of the tuba work at Hanna Barbara in the mid sixties. Tommy was also the only tubaist to play on the Gilligan's Island television series.
