How many of the 100+ auditionees in Portland last year do you think missed a note? At that level it's purely a matter of the audition committee's tastes. Either they like you the best or they don't. At this point in my life, I'm tired of letting other people & outside circumstances determine events in my life. If or when I ever feel ready to audition for a gig, I know that the earth will still be on its axis if I don't get the gig. And that whoever got the gig was just better THAT DAY. Different day, I get the gig. Maybe I look a little like the rude waiter the committee had at lunch. Subconciously, people read all sorts of things into a person that might not really be there. It's that subjective.
