Hey All,
Just a few humorous anecdotes I thought I would share that I hope will bring a smile to your faces.
While listening to the reed section rehearse the opening section of Claude Smiths' "Eternal Father Strong To Save", the Tuba Section was waiting attentavely when the clarinets all of a sudden crashed and burned. I leaned over to the section head and said now that is a prime example of why there isn't a Clarinet Christmas and the whole section lost it.It took a good ten minute for the laughter to subside. A while later in "Big Band Favorites" the conductor stoped the Band and looked back at the tuba section. He then mistakenly took the String Bass cues for something else and said, "Hey why don't you guys play the Tuba cues if you got them". The section head then said now there is something you don't hear every day then the whole Band lost it.
It was pretty funny when it happened I guess you had to be there...........
Any other stories out there?
