A friend of mine heard the Dallas Symphony play Pictures at a concert a week or two ago, and he sent me some comments provided by the reviewer in the Morning Snooze.

The reviewer praised the performance on euphonium by Matt Good.

Now, I seem to recall a thread a while back on this perennial subject, where the good Mr. Good reported his preference for an Alexander tenor tuba, which he stoutly denied being a euphonium. My suspicion is that the reviewer was trying to show off that he knew the word "euphonium" and wouldn't actually know one if it bopped him on the nose, but I wonder what instrument Matt actually used?

In any case, the reviews both in the paper and from my friend were glowing. Times are good in the Metroplex these days for orchestral music lovers.
