Healed? Well, not completely. That will take a lot of effort over time. But it is no longer an issue that will keep me from playing and enjoying this instrument.
I'm using the fourth valve alone for low C, and have it pulled enough to tune it (which is also pretty close on the G).
The Bb below it is a bit trickier. I have the fifth slide pulled almost all the way out, and I'm still divided as to whether 4-5 or 1-2-4 works better for the Bb. If I'm tense to the point that everything is pushing sharp, 124 works better. But if I'm playing like I should 45 works better.
